International Society for Performance Improvement Accredits JetBlue AME Certification Program

Award Presented to JetBlue at Special Ceremony in NY

Washington, DC. (August 18, 2011) - The International Society for Performance Improvement announced the successful accreditation of JetBlue Airways’ (Nasdaq: JBLU) AME Certification Program at a presentation on Aug. 15 in New York City. ISPI, the leading association dedicated to improving productivity and performance in the workplace, conducted the third-party evaluation which was based on the JetBlue certification program’s alignment to a set of industry standards and code of ethics. The Assessment, Measurement, and Evaluation Certification Program was designed for JetBlue University faculty to cultivate data-driven decision-making skills and expertise within the company.

“We are thrilled to be able to announce the JetBlue AME Certification Program’s successful accreditation which demonstrates JetBlue Airways’ commitment to excellence. As measurement and data-driven practice are becoming expected in the workplace, it will become increasingly important for organizations of all sizes to invest in high-performing learning systems and training programs designed to streamline operations and optimize the use of resources,” said April S. Davis, CAE, executive director of ISPI.

The JetBlue AME Certification Program is a four-month performance-based program that leverages applied learning opportunities. A combination of workshops, webinars, personal knowledge builders, and practice with a mentor and peers helps participants learn and apply best practices in the areas of assessment, measurement and evaluation.

“One of the primary strategic goals of JetBlue University is to develop the capacity for evidencebased learning and decision-making within JBU and throughout JetBlue Airways,” notes Warren Christie, vice president of JetBlue University. “We’re extremely proud to receive this accreditation from ISPI as acknowledgement that we’re moving in the right direction, both within JetBlue and in the performance improvement profession.”

ISPI accredits education, performance improvement and training programs, courses and services offered by for-profit and nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, corporations, departments, vendors/consultants, associations, military and government entities. Organizations document their adherence to a code of ethics and set of standards and undergo an interview and/or site visit by trained reviewers. It is the goal of ISPI’s accreditation program to bring recognition to those organizations, department programs, courses and services that produce worthy, measurable results.

Founded in 1962, the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) is the leading international association dedicated to improving productivity and performance in the workplace. ISPI represents Performance Improvement professionals throughout the United States, Canada, and 40 other countries.
